Tim O’Connor is an engineering genius based in New Zealand’s North Island. After years on the tools working for other companies, including the international Yachting series Sail GP, Tim wanted to try out a new business venture.

Since he was a teenager, Tim has been building and riding Minibikes, either Trutest branded, or home made. With his unique skillset and a the minibike passion; it didn’t take long for Hustler Minibikes to be born. I went to spend half a day with Tim as he showed us around his finished models and the workshop that produces them.

Tim is also famous for making Rotary engine powered Minibikes. These use SACHS KM engines, and are new old stock engines sourced internationally. They look amazing, sound even better and are the coolest little machines in town.

Tim builds the follows models: Hustler Lil Hustler, Hustler Fatboy, Hustler Rotary Special, Hustler XL pack, Hustler Scorpion. He’s even wedged a SACHS rotary engine into a Honda QA50!
